Ottenhöfen, Black Forest
Fortunately I had a couple of days off, the gods of weather did a good job and there are still plenty of tracks to be mapped across the Black Forest area. Obviously I try to torture the recently purchased Rohloff Speedhub as much as I can. Today I took the train to Achern (145m), headed towards Ottenhöfen (327m), Ruhestein (915m), Obertal (about 600m) and Baiersbronn (about 500m).
The real inclines started from Ottenhöfen. I chose some tracks and paths which were still missing in the database. Those included some steep inclines, so pushing the bike was necessary every now and then:

Near the Bosenstein I mapped this nice chapel, called Wendelinskapelle:

Again the camera of the N900 did a good job taking pictures under bad light conditions:

After the break at the Ruhestein I went down the opposite side of the hill, mapping some new tracks and adding some details adjacent to my way. On wednesday I had bad luck and missed the train in Baiersbronn by a couple of minutes. Today both the train and me arrived at the station at the very same time. Good luck :) . Here’s today’s trip:
Again I got better battery lifetime results using the Nokia N900. It seems to help a lot to put the mapping application (I used Mappero) into the background and to blank the screen when both are not needed.
