Overview

While driving a career in the woodworking businesses during the nineties, I made one of my hobbies a profession and switched to software development back in 2000.

Scrum & Certificates

Since I got addicted to Scrum, I’m learning about agile software development day by day. As a consequence, I gained two certificates. Firstly, there’s the Professional Scrum Master I certificate, gained after a training with Ken Schwaber, via scrum.org.

Secondly, there’s the Certified Scrum Product Owner certificate, gained after a training with Roman Pichler. I’m currently listed as CSPO at scrumalliance.org.

Software Development

Since software development became my passion, it does not only make my living. I also contributed to several open source projects (such as KDE). I wrote some open source applications (like Simple Sysexxer), am a member of the Linux audio community, contributed huge amounts of data and code to openstreetmap, and held some talks at various conferences (such as the esgeo, the Linuxtag and the Linux Audio Conference).

Currently my preferred pet project is MoNav, a fast and exact routing application for desktop computers and mobile devices. One of my many interests is usability in all its flavours, an often underestimated issue in both open source as well as commercial software products.
